Databases can be helpful places to search as they include peer-reviewed articles from multiple journals.
Select a library database
- Visit the University of Idaho Library website
- Click
Articles
below the search box - On the new page:
- Option 1: Click
Databases by Title
- Option 2: Click a
Databases by Subject
link- Example: Sociology/Criminology
- Option 1: Click
- Then, click the database you are interested in
- Example: Sociological Abstracts
- Enter your
Vandal NetID
if prompted
Search in a library database
- Type your keywords into the search box
- Example: vaccines AND opinions AND trust

Limit search results
On the results page, you can limit your results by:
- Peer reviewed articles
- Full text access
- Source type
- Publication date
Select relevant search results
- Browse the results
- Click an article you are interested in
- Read the
Abstract/Details
- Make note of useful
subject headings
- Subject headings are the terms databases use to describe specific concepts
- Include them in your search to get more specific results

Access the full-text
- Read the article online or download the PDF
If necessary:
- Click the
Find It
icon to check for full-text - Under
View It
, click the link that provides access to the article- If there are no links under

, request the article for free via Interlibrary Loan
